Medication Management: What to Expect

Welcome to our medication management service, an essential part of our commitment to ensuring the best possible care for our patients. Here’s a guide to what you can anticipate:

During a Psychiatric Evaluation:

The process delves into developmental, medical, and family histories, along with social influences, work concerns, and emotional and cognitive strengths and weaknesses. The approach varies some with each patient.

Topics generally covered vary by age but often include:

  1. - Individual History
  2. - History of the Problem
  3. - Family History
  4. - Substance Use
  5. - Developmental History
  6. - Medical History
  7. - Social History
  8. - Mental Status Examination

Please Note: We don't provide emergency evaluations for severe risks like suicidal tendencies or major self-harm. Those with significant substance abuse or severe psychotic symptoms may be directed to emergency centers for further assessment, which could lead to specialized care at psychiatric facilities. Such centers offer regular checks on a person's safety and emotional well-being.

When is a Psychiatric Evaluation helpful?

At our practice, we treat conditions such as Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar disorder, and ADHD. Patients come to us when they experience sadness, low energy, mood swings, attention issues, or challenges with substance use. Additionally, caregivers consult us when their child faces academic challenges or exhibits disruptive behaviors.
